To maximise the scenery experienced on your scenic flight, your flight will consist of a 10-minute doors-on transfer to Xhoo, where you will remove the doors and lift off for your 25-minute doors-off scenic flight. Once landed, you will begin your Xhoo Community Experience. Xhoo is a small rural village near Maun which borders a wildlife concession in the Okavango Delta. The community has no access to reliable sources of income and few job opportunities, with their lifestyle being predominantly subsistence-based. The community is excited to share their lifestyle and history with visitors and, in turn, learn about other cultures and ways of life. After your experience, your pilot will transfer you back to Maun, offering a bird’s eye view of the town known as the gateway to the Okavango Delta.

This project is run by Mmila Mela – a registered Non-Profit Organisation – which has been working with Xhoo since 2021 to help develop community support structures and income-generating activities. 25% of your payment is donated to Mmila Mela – 50% of your which goes towards supporting the operational costs of our development initiatives such as the Xhoo playgroup and feeding program for children under five. The remaining 50% goes directly to the community as livelihood support.
